Cole Congratulates OK-04 Educators on National Recognition
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement congratulating two educators from the Fourth District of Oklahoma who were selected as recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). Those teachers are Jayci Harris (Homer Elementary School, Ada) and Julie Klingensmith (Norman High School).
“I am delighted to congratulate Jayci Harris and Julie Klingensmith on their tremendous achievement and much-deserved national recognition. As recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science, they have clearly proven their dedication to educating our nation’s youth and promoting excellence in STEM,” said Cole. “Teachers are some of America’s unspoken heroes, and I am pleased to see exceptional STEM educators from the Fourth District recognized for their commitment to helping Oklahoma students succeed.”
PAEMST is the highest U.S. recognition for K-12 teachers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) or computer science. Recognized for outstanding teaching in STEM fields, recipients are awarded a signed certificate by President Trump, a trip to the nation’s capital for a series of special recognition events this week and a $10,000 cash award from the National Science Foundation.
