Cole Opposes Democrats’ $1.9 Trillion Liberal Wish List

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after he voted against H.R. 1319, a budget reconciliation bill written solely by House Democrats totaling $1.9 trillion.

"After Congress proved it could work together to deliver bipartisan coronavirus relief for the American people on five separate occasions last year, I regret that Democrats completely abandoned any good faith efforts to work with Republicans to do so again," said Cole. "But aside from their go-it-alone approach on their so-called coronavirus rescue package, Democrats also failed to address the urgent needs and policies actually related to the ongoing pandemic. In fact, more than 90 percent of their partisan and liberal $1.9 trillion package has nothing at all to do with the pandemic. This is no way to get things done for the American people. "
