Cole Responds to President Biden’s Infrastructure and Climate Plan

Press Release

Moore, OK – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement in response to the $2 trillion infrastructure and climate plan unveiled by the Biden Administration yesterday.

“The so-called infrastructure plan put forward by President Biden would be better described as the Green New Deal by a different name,” said Cole. “Although there a very few areas in the proposal that Republicans and Democrats can agree on such as updating roads, bridges, waterways and broadband nationwide, this proposal taken in its entirety is merely a progressive climate policy and irresponsible taxation wish list.

“Included in this plan are extreme tax increases that would crush businesses and eliminate jobs, undermining the monumental Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 which ushered in vital economic growth and created jobs for hardworking Americans. The misguided policies contained in Biden’s proposal would encourage more businesses to move overseas rather than setting up shop at home. Moreover, increasing taxes on Americans and our businesses while we are still recovering from a pandemic is simply wrong.”
