Lawton Ft. Sill Regional Airport Receives AIP Grant for Further Improvements

Norman, OK – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) congratulated the Lawton Ft. Sill Regional Airport after it was awarded a grant, totaling more than $3.2 million, through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The AIP grant funding will go toward runway repairs and improvements.

"While the pandemic has greatly disrupted air travel nationwide this year, that certainly doesn't sideline the need to invest now in airport infrastructure improvements that will better accommodate more travelers again in the future. I am very proud to congratulate the Fourth District's own Lawton Ft. Sill Regional Airport for receiving substantial grant funding to make further improvements, this time through renewal of deteriorating runway and bolstering the weight capacity for carrying heavy aircraft. These vital updates will certainly benefit the Lawton community for years to come."
