Mid-America Christian University Awarded Rural Development Grant

November 20, 2019

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) congratulated Mid-America Christian University (MACU) after it was announced that MACU will be awarded a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) through the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) grant program. The grant will be used by MACU to implement a Distance Learning Project that widens rural access to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) classes and equipment for students and teachers.

"I am proud that Mid-America Christian University has been selected as a recipient of a grant that will greatly benefit rural Oklahoma," said Cole. "With this funding, MACU will be able to invest more in distance learning and bring STEM learning to communities that might not have easy access otherwise. Certainly, when we support and prioritize the educational needs of our rural communities, our entire nation stands to benefit."
