Cole Congratulates Incoming Speaker Paul Ryan
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) congratulated Paul Ryan today after he was elected to serve as the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
"I am absolutely thrilled that Paul Ryan was elected to serve as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives," said Cole. "Paul's decision to serve comes at considerable sacrifice, and the fact that he is willing to step up and assume this challenging position at such a difficult time speaks to his personal and political character. In the days and months ahead, I will do everything I can to support him as he offers a fresh vision for a better America and carries out his new duties as Speaker. I couldn't be more proud to vote for him today.
"Paul Ryan may not be Oklahoma's favorite son, but he's certainly Oklahoma's favorite son-in-law. I am particularly pleased that a guy with hunting dogs named ‘Boomer' and ‘Sooner' is now Speaker of the House," concluded Cole.
