Cole Statement of Support for Speaker Mike Johnson

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK) released the following statement after voting to table the Motion to Vacate the Speaker that was brought forward against Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA):

“Today, a Motion to Vacate was brought up against Speaker Mike Johnson. This is both disappointing and counterproductive, as it only creates chaos during a time when Congress has important work to do,” said Congressman Cole.

“Speaker Johnson has consistently pushed conservative policies that have benefited the American people. I have full faith in his ability to continue to lead this body,” said Congressman Cole. “He had my full support in October when he was elected Speaker, and he continues to have my full support now. I stand with Speaker Johnson.”
