Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 8371, the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act:

“Since the founding of our nation, countless brave men and women have answered the call to serve our nation in the armed forces. Nothing short of heroes, we can truly never do enough to adequately honor them,” said Congressman Cole. “However, we must at the very least ensure that those who serve our country will be taken care of when they return home. The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act will help to do just that by enhancing and reforming the delivery of services at the VA by ultimately putting our veterans, their families, and their survivors – not bureaucracy – first. As the Representative for over 58,000 veterans in Oklahoma’s Fourth District, I will always look out for our nation’s veterans, and I am very glad to see this bill pass the House Floor today.”
