Congressman Cole's Statement Upon the Capture of Saddam Hussein
December 13, 2003
Washington, D.C. – "Today marks a decisive moment in the struggle to re-establish a civil society in Iraq. The capture of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein is an important victory in the larger war on terrorism. His capture will surely be a giant step toward a more secure Iraq and a more peaceful Middle East," Congressman Tom Cole said.
"I want to congratulate the U.S Armed Forces on this victory. Their hard work and dedication have made this possible. I join all Americans today in congratulating our troops on this historic capture."
"As the President noted in his speech today, there will still be difficult times ahead, but those who oppose tyranny and terror can be proud of this moment and move ahead with confidence."
