Rep. Cole Denounces Condemnation Effort

WASHINGTON - Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) issued the following statement today denouncing efforts to condemn Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02).

"Congressman Wilson has already apologized to the President and the President has already accepted that apology," Congressman Cole said. "Today's vote was nothing more than an unnecessary partisan distraction. Congressman Wilson is a good man, a good legislator and a National Guard veteran with 31 years of service. His initial apology should have been enough. This unwarranted action by the Democratic majority will make this a House that is more rather than less partisan in its tone and demeanor."
