Rep. Cole Requests Relief Funding for Comanche County
WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Today Congressman Cole (OK-4) sent a letter to President Bush requesting relief funding for Comanche County's flooded areas. This request would extend relief to the area in conjunction with Governor Henry's initial disaster request.
"My hope is that this request will lead to expedited approval of disaster relief for Comanche County. The situation is decidedly grim with substantial damage to public utilities and infrastructure, damage which will be unaffordable for these local governments to replace. Both my staff and I have spent time touring the affected areas of my district for the last week. I will work closely with the Governor as he continues to add additional counties to his disaster request. From my survey of the Fourth District I am convinced that he will do so as soon as the damage assessment teams provide him with the information he needs to justify additional requests," Congressman Cole said.
