Cole Praises House Passage of Farm Bill

July 11, 2013

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) praised passage of H.R. 2642, the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management (FARRM) Act of 2013. The legislation was introduced on the House floor by Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas (OK-03) and passed by a vote of 216-208 on Thursday.

"Today's vote represents victory for farmers across the country but also for our economic recovery," said Cole. "The House came together and voted for a bill that cuts billions of dollars in wasteful spending and prioritizes quality farm programs. While there is still work to be done, we are on the right path toward providing economic stability for agriculture communities and the nation as a whole. This victory for rural America could not have been accomplished in this difficult political environment without the leadership, skill and perseverance of my friend and colleague Frank Lucas."
