December 8, 2003

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole secured $325,000 in the FY04 Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for wastewater infrastructure improvements in Choctaw.

I am very pleased that these funds are included in the final legislation," Congressman Tom Cole said. "During tight budget times these funds will serve the community of Choctaw."

This project is included in the Conference Report on H.R. 2673, the Consolidated Appropriations Act for FY2004. Congressman Cole worked with the Oklahoma Congressional Delegation to secure $6 million for the Job Access and Reverse Commute program and $6.25 million for the rehabilitation of buses and bus facilities statewide.

"Upgrades to our transportation system are vital as we are looking forward to a growing economy. Reliable, accessible public transportation is the key to helping everyone that wants a job get and keep a job," Congressman Tom Cole said.
