U.S. House Approves Funding for FY2005 Military Construction

July 23, 2004
Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Cole announced funds for Oklahoma projects that were included in the Military Construction funding bill for FY 2005 (H.R. 4837). Congressman Cole and the Oklahoma Delegation worked to include these funds in H.R. 4837 that passed last night in the U.S. House.

"I am very pleased that these requests for funding were included in the House legislation. These projects provide training resources for our military and housing for them and their families. We owe this to military families for the tremendous sacrifices they make on our behalf," Congressman Tom Cole said.

Fort Sill will receive just over $13 million for the third phase of the Consolidated Maintenance Complex and over $14 million for the Vehicle Maintenance Facility. Also included in the Military Construction bill for Ft Sill is $3.4 million for the Field Operations Building. This project was added into this legislation at the request of Congressman Cole. Tinker Air Force Base will receive $5.4 million for additions and alterations to the hydrant fuel system. Additionally over $3.2 million was added for a Multi-Purpose Machine Gun Range at Camp Gruber Training Center.

This legislation will provide $5.3 billion for military construction projects and $4.2 billion for family housing.
