Washington, DC – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after the House passed the Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 3230, the Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014. This legislation includes $10 billion for the Veterans Choice Fund, $5 billion for improving the internal medical force at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and $1.5 billion to start up new VA clinics, including one in Tulsa.

In response to the president’s $3.7 billion request, the working group instead recommended only $659 million and set forth conditions for actually dealing with the cause of the problem.
